The Basic Guidelines
While the details of projects can vary a great deal from one project to the next, there are a few general guidelines we have to let you know what to expect.
- Projects may be quoted either fixed-fee or at an hourly rate, depending on how well-defined project details are.
- 1/3 of the project cost is due at project start, unless otherwise agreed upon. The balance of the project costs are due upon delivery of the completed work. Depending on the size of the project, milestone payments may be necessary.
- If an error is ours, we’ll fix it at no additional charge to you. If an error is yours, we’ll provide you with a cost for correction for you to approve prior to applying a fix.
- Projects have a natural tendency to evolve, shifting and changing as progress exposes more requirements that may not have been apparent at project start. Changes and additions to the project will be estimated for your approval prior to performing additional work for any new requirements.
- If your project has a short turn-around, we reserve the right to charge an additional fee.
- If a project is dropped after work has begun, Compelling Words is entitled to fees equal to hours worked on the project.
- You will be asked to review and approve each major milestone to ensure success of your project.
